Q How was Ellevate formed?
A

During his time at University, CEO and Founder Akshay Lugani conceived the idea of Ellevate while watching football. He noticed that despite having a population of 1.5 billion people, India was unable to put together a competitive football team, realising that the underlying problem was that people did not know where to look to find talent. From this Ellevate was born with the aim of levelling the playing field by providing young aspiring footballers equal access to professional football training and opportunities.

Q What does Ellevate do?

Ellevate is an app for young players to improve their skills, track progress and learn about the beautiful game. The platform encourages users to work on their game and develop themselves holistically through training with the biggest and brightest names in football, carefully curated player care focusing on nutrition and rehabilitation, and customisable profiles.

Q Who can use Ellevate?
A

Ellevate isn’t just for those looking to become professional footballers, the app is for anyone wanting to keep fit, improve themselves on and off the pitch, or just simply play the game they love. For players who want to improve we have focused training, for those looking to learn we have expert advice on nutrition and rehab, and for entertainment we have editorials. All combining to create an inclusive platform catering to all footballing needs.

Q What do I need to use Ellevate?
A

iPhone users will need to download the app onto their phone and our Web App users will simply need to access Ellevate online. Once in the platform players will need a football, goal, cones/poles and a few extra players from time to time in order to get the most out of training.

Q How are players under 16 protected when using the app?
A

Any player under the age of 16 can create an account but their uploaded content will not be viewable to anyone but themselves. In order to make content viewable to scouts, users will need to provide parent/guardian consent and ID which will allow scouts to view videos and provide players with a greater chance of getting noticed and ultimately scouted. This process is handled by an independent third-party verification service company which is fully encrypted and GDPR compliant.

Q What security checks do you conduct to verify scouts?

We run DBS checks on all scouts before we grant them full access to the Ellevate dashboard. This is done by requesting they upload a copy of their valid ID which will then be verified by an independent third party verification service which is fully encrypted and GDPR compliant.

Q What happens if a club or scout wants to send a message to a player below 16?
A

Ellevate allows clubs or scouts to email players above 16. If a user is below 16, their parents/guardians will be notified and able to respond on their behalf.

Users under the age of 16 are protected and will not receive any direct communication from clubs or scouts. Clubs and scouts will be ‘Notice of Approach’ compliant emailing the club and waiting 7 days before contacting parents/guardians. All emails within the Ellevate platform are masked.

Q Is Ellevate free?
A

Ellevate operates under a Freemium Model which allows users to watch a limited number of our exclusive training drills, editorials and customise their player profile. However, in order to gain full, unrestricted access users can sign up to a monthly Premium Subscription giving them all of our in-depth training courses, exclusive editorial content/advice, and the ability to take advantage of our member benefits which include discounts at recognisable brands such as Sports Direct, MGP Nutrition and much more.

Q How do I purchase a Premium Membership?
A

Simply click on any locked content such as training, editorials or member benefits, and you will be taken to our Subscription page where you can then follow the payment process outlined.

Q Do you store credit card information?
A

No. Payment on our iOS version is handled through Apple Pay and Web App through Stripe. No credit card information is stored on our servers.

Q How do I cancel my subscription?
A

You can cancel your subscription anytime. On iOS simply go to ‘Settings’ – ‘Your Subscription’ and you will be directed to your iPhone settings where you cancel your Premium Membership. On our Web App go to ‘App Settings’ on the top right – ‘Subscription’ where you can cancel directly within the same page. Please note that users can only cancel their subscription through the version they set up their subscription on, users who have set up their subscription through the iOS app can only cancel via the iOS app and this is the same for our Web App.

Q How do I reset my password?
A

To reset your password just click ‘Forgot Password’ on the sign in page and you will be asked to type the email address where you wish to receive a one time password verification pin. The app will then ask you to enter this pin to verify you are the account owner and once entered you will be able to reset your password.

Q How will I know if there is new content added to the app?
A

Make sure you turn on your push notifications and check your email (including junk) to receive our regular Ellevate newsletter which includes new content, player success stories and much more.

Q How do I train through the app?
A

Players can focus on the areas they most want to work on and develop filtered by difficulty, player and position. Completing drills will collect skill points which in turn mean players level up and the higher the level the more visible players will be to scouts.

Q How are the drills designed?
A

We design our drills by working with UEFA A licensed coaches working at top Premier League clubs.

Q How do I navigate training?
A

Courses are featured based on popularity and are curated into different skillsets so players can filter and focus on various elements of their game. We also provide a search and filter option to narrow down these courses by difficulty, player and position so you can get training on what is most relevant to you.

Q What sort of video should I upload?
A

We recommend users go through the training courses and record themselves completing the same drill as outlined in the courses so players have a structure to their uploads and this gives scouts a way to gauge skill level and general proficiency. Players can also upload any other training or match highlights.

Q What is the profile section?
A

Here you can find videos you have uploaded and your skill levels. A completed bio gives scouts the most accurate sense of who you are as a player and means they can get in contact if they need to.

Q How do I get involved with Ellevate events?
A

On our platform you’ll see all our Ellevate events under ‘Upcoming Events’. Keep a close eye out and apply through the iOS or Web App, and we’ll send you an invitation with further details.

Q How does the app work from a scout point of view?
A

Through the Ellevate Dashboard scouts can search by specific metrics and unearth the talent they are looking for and gain an intuitive, holistic view of promising players that are relevant to them. Within individual player profiles, scouts can see information including bios, highlight reels and contact information.

Q As a player how do I contact scouts?
A

Ellevate does not allow players to contact scouts, but scouts can contact players via a parent’s/guardian’s email provided they been through Ellevate security checks. Emails will not be shared with any scouts unless parent’s/guardian’s choose to reply.

Q Why can’t I find my club?
A

Please ensure that you search using the official club name, spelt correctly. It is possible that your team is not on the Ellevate platform at the moment and can be added upon request.

Q Right now, the app is available iOS, will there be a version for Android users etc.?
A

Ellevate will be releasing a Web App next month that will cater to our Android users. We will also release an Android version of the app in the near future.

Q How do you handle my data?
A

Your data will not be used for any other purposes other than those outlined in our terms & conditions and privacy policy, or shared with any third parties or combined with any other personal information collected in strict compliance with GDPR.

Q How do I delete my account?
